World No Tobacco Day: Tobacco and Lung Health

Every year on May 31, the World Health Organization (WHO) and global partners celebrate the World No Tobacco Day. The annual campaign is designed to raise awareness of the harmful effects of tobacco use and to discourage the use of tobacco in any form.

This year’s theme is “tobacco and lung health,” focusing on the negative impact that tobacco has on people’s lungs, from cancer to chronic respiratory diseases, such as COPD.
